In re Estate of Nathan C. Hammond Deceased

Tax and Dues Paid

1911 December 17: Affidavit of H.N. Harder that Nathan C. Hammond late of Annin Township PA. Died August 10, 1911, Filed.

I, Nathan C. Hammond of Annin in the county of McKean and State of Pennsylvania being of sound mind, memory and understanding, do make, and publish this my last will and testament hereby revoking and making void all former wills by me at any time heretofore made.

And first, I direct that my funeral be conducted in a manner corresponding with my estate and situation in life and that all my just debts and funeral expenses be fully paid and satisfied as soon as conveniently may be after my decease.

As to such estate as it hath pleased God to intrust me with, I dispose of the same as follows, viz:

It is my will that my wife Mary Hammond shall have the Homestead Farm where we now live during her life time, and it is my will that after my wife and I are dead and gone my Daughter Clara Beckwith shall have my Homestead Farm and all of my personal property thereon at my death and the death of my wife. Including Household Goods and benefits from oil or gas should any be found on said premises. But I hold the Homestead responsible for the payment of all my just debts and funeral expenses of myself and wife and twelve Hundred Dollars ($1200.00 to be paid as follows:

To my son George Palmer Hammond the sum of two Hundred Dollars ($200 00/100) to be paid within two years from the date of my death and the death of my wife.

To my Daughter Mary Yentzer the sum of two Hundred Dollars ($200 00/100) to be paid within four years from the date of my death and the death of my wife.

To my son Dwight L. Hammond the sum of one Hundred Dollars ($100 00/100) to be paid within four years from the date of my death and the death of my wife.

To my daughter Minnie Brown the sum of one Hundred Dollars ($100 00/100) to be paid within six years from the date of my death and the death of my wife.

To my Grandson Mark Hammond the sum of one Hundred Dollars ($100 00/100) to be paid within seven years from the date of my death and the death of my wife.

To my Grandson William Hammond the sum of one Hundred Dollars ($100 00/100) to be paid within eight years from the date of my death and the death of my wife.

To my daughter Jesse Miller the sum of two Hundred Dollars ($200 00/100) to be paid within nine years from the date of my death and the death of my wife.

To H. Niles Harder the sum of one Hundred and fifty Dollars ($150 00/100) to be paid within ten years from the date of my death and the death of my wife.

To by Grand Daughter May Belle Tubbs the sum of fifty Dollars ($50 00/100) to be paid within ten years from the date of my death and the death of my wife.

My son Dwight L. Hammond and Daughter Minnie Brown were partly cared for some years ago.

And I hereby nominate, constitute and appoint Clara Beckwith H. N. Harder Executors of this, my last will and testament.

In Witness Whereof, I Nathan C. Hammond the Testator have to this, my will, written on one sheet of paper, set my hand and seal this Twenty second (22) day of April A.D. One Thousand, Nine Hundred and Eleven

Personally came before me John D. Eastman Register for the Probate of Wills and granting Letters of Administration, in and for the County aforesaid, Henry H. Evans and Claude W. Norton the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing Will, who being duly sworn according to law, do say that they were present, and saw and heard Nathan C. Hammond the testator within named, sign, seal, publish, pronounce and declare the foregoing instrument of writing as and for his last will and testament, and that [line missing on copy] understanding to the best of their knowledge and belief, that they signed their names as witnesses thereto in the presence of and at the request of the said testator and in the presence of each other.
