Gideon moved from Swansea to Rehoboth In October 1724; moved to Scituate, RI
1736; admitted Scituate freeman in 1738.
[16]
William is omitted in the the Hammond genealogy written By Frederick S.
Hammond. F.S. Hammond genealogy lists the first child of Gideon as Gideon.
No source has been found which confirms this. This William may have lived
in Scituate, RI.
[18]
Hezekiah lived in Scituate, RI and Berkshire Co. Mass. He sold land in
Scituate, RI in 1767, 1768, and 1770.
[20]
Benjamin Seamons deeded land to Gideon Hammond, Elizabeth's nephew on 4 Oct
1778 (Scituate deeds, 6:485). The genealogy of the Seamans family states that
the Elizabeth Hammond who married Benjamin Seamans was the daughter of
Jonathon Hammond and Katherine Davis of CT. Until I am able to confirm this,
I have left Benjamin Seamans as Elizabeth Hammond's husband. Perhaps one of
the Seamans descendants can research this further. Benjamin Seamans is given
as Elizabeth's husband in the Hammond family genealogy by F. S. Hammond.
