Email Holiday Card Woes
By Dan Judd
Director of ARQ Internet Solutions

As the Holidays approach so does the tradition of Holiday letters and cards. Now that email is so widely available, many people have taken to saving a stamp and sending the seasons well-wishes electronically. Some even go so far as to include family pictures and other attachments to spruce up the mailing.

Unfortunately, these attachments can cause problems for the recipients when they are too large. Sounds and movies can be especially large, often over 1 or 2 megabytes. While ARQ is quite capable of receiving and delivering these attachments, many peoples home computers have trouble when their email box grows larger than a megabyte or two. These problem can result in the recipient not being able to get any mail at all, or sometimes, to load the same messages over and over. Fortunately there is hope, if you have trouble getting your mail just give us a call and we can clear out the messages from your email box that are causing trouble. You may miss a dancing snowman or two, but at least you can read your other mail.
