AMOS HAMMOND'S DEED TO JOHN BAKER AND DANIEL BAKER - 1768 (Recorded 1777)

To All People to whom these Presents shall come I Amos Hammond of Scituate in the County of Providence in the Colony of Rhode Island & Yeoman Send Greeting know Ye that I - the said Amos Hammond for and in Consideration of the Sum of two hundred and twenty five Pounds old Tenor to me in Hand before the unsealing hereof well and timely paid by John Baker and Daniel Baker of Warwick in the County of Kent and Colony aforesaid Yeoman, the Receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge and myself therewith fully satisfied contented and paid and thereof and of every Part and Parcel thereof do exonerate acquit and discharge them the said John Baker and Daniel Baker their Heirs Executors and Administrators forever by these Presents- have remised released and for ever quitted Claim, and by these Presents do freely fully & absolutely remise release and for ever quit Claim unto them the said John Baker and Daniel Baker their Heirs and Assigns forever of all my Right Title Claim Interest or Property I now have or ever had to a certain Tract of Land and Buildings and Appurtenances that the said John Baker and Daniel Baker of late purchased of Amos Hammond Jun. Lying in Scituate aforesaid be the same more or less and I the said Amos Hammond for myself my Heirs Executors and Administrators do covenant promise and grant to and with the said John Baker and Daniel Baker their Heirs and Assigns that at and before the ensealing hereof I am the true Sole and lawful Owner of Part of the above and before quit Claimed Premises and am lawfully seized and possessed of the same in my own proper Right as a good perfect and absolute Estate of Inheritance in fee Simple and have in myself good Right full Power and lawfull Authority to quit my Claim and convey the same in Manner aforesaid, and that the said John Baker and Daniel Baker their Heirs and Assigns shall and may from Time to Time and at all Times forever hereafter by Force and Virtue of these Presents lawfully peaceably and quietly have hold use occupy possess and enjoy the said demised and quitclaimed premises free and clear from all Incumbrances whatsoever, and will forever warrant Secure and defend the same from all Lawfull Claimers by these Presents. And Anner Hammond the Wife of the said Amos Hammond doth by these Presents freely and willingly give yield up and Surrender all her Right of Dower and Power of Thirds of in and to the above quit claimed Premises to them the said John and Daniel Baker their Heirs and Assigns forever. In Witness whereof the said Amos Hammond have hereunto Set my Hand and Seal the 17th Day of September, in the eighty Year of his Majesty's Reign George the third King of Great Britain & Anno Domini 1768
